Specifications with standard type face are for TJ = 25°C, and those with boldface type apply over full Operating Temperature
Range. Unless otherwise specified, VIN − VOUT = 5V, and IOUT = 10 mA.
The electronic components LM317 is capable of providing extremely good load regulation but a few precautions are needed to obtain maximum performance. The current set resistor connected between the
adjustment terminal and the output terminal (usually 240Ω) should be tied directly to the output (case) of the regulator rather than near the load. This eliminates line drops from appearing
effectively in series with the reference and degrading regulation. For example, a 15V regulator with 0.05Ω resistance between the regulator and load will have a load regulation due to line resistance of 0.05Ω × IL.
If the set resistor is connected near the load the effective line resistance will be 0.05Ω (1 + R2/R1) or in this case, 11.5 times worse.
Figure 2 shows the effect of resistance between the regulator and 240Ω set resistor.

- One pin of reset switch goes to GND(ground) and the other pin goes to reset pin(Pin1 of chip).
- 10K resistor is connected across reset pin (Pin 1) and Vcc. Vcc is the power to run the programmer and that is drawn by FT232RL breakout board via computer.
- Pin 7 of chip goes to Vcc
- Pin 8 of chip goes to GND
- 16Mhz crystal oscillator is connected between Pin 9 and 10 of Atmega chip.
- One 22pF capacitor is connected across pin 9 and GND and the other capacitor across Pin 10 and GND.
- Pin 22 goes to GND
- Pin 20 and 21 go to Vcc.
- 330R resistor is connected to Pin 19 (DIG 13) and cathode terminal of LED and the led’s anode terminal is finally connected to GND.

Ic components are placed on the non-copper side, then the stripboard is turned over to solder the component leads to the copper tracks.
Stripboard layouts are shown from the electronic components side, so the tracks are out of sight under the board. Layouts are normally shown with the tracks running horizontally across the diagram.
Placing components on stripboard requires care. The large number of holes means it is very easy to make a mistake! For most small circuits the best method is to very carefully place the IC holder(s) in the correct position and solder in place. Then you can position all the other components relative to the IC holder(s).
Minor position errors left and right will not usually be a problem because the component will still be connected to the correct tracks. However, up and down position errors must be avoided because just one hole too high or too low will connect the component to the wrong track and therefore the wrong part of the circuit.
Some people like to label the holes with letters (up/down) and numbers (across) to give each hole a 'grid reference' but this still requires careful counting of holes.

Growth slower rates forecast of the electronic components marketplace
The latest electronic components hqew.net (the world leading B2B Marketplace of Ic components) figures released by the International Distribution of Electronics Association (IDEA) indicate that China distributors saw a decline in both bookings (net sales orders entered) and billings (sales revenue less credits) in the last quarter of 2010 compared to the previous three months. However, there was an encouraging and significant improvement over Q4 2009.
Historically, Q1 has been a reasonably strong quarter for China component distributors but, according to IDEA, the current uncertainty in the macro-economic environment is making customers nervous and impacting confidence throughout the supply network. Global demand for electronic components however remains strong but inventory across the supply network remains 10 to 15% below previous industry norms.
